Lafayette Parish Communication District Supervisor Recognized for Life-Saving Assistance
A Lafayette Parish Communication District Supervisor was recognized at the City of Scott Council meeting held on Thursday, November 6, 2025, for her role in assisting a man who was experiencing a stroke. During the meeting, Mrs. Roger, the patient’s wife, extended her sincere appreciation to all first responders for their prompt actions and compassionate care provided to her husband.
Coca-Cola Thanks First Responders
In honor of the anniversary of September 11th, Coca-Cola Bottling Company generously donated a supply of Powerade to the Lafayette Parish Communication District.
The company shared that this gesture was their way of expressing gratitude for the unwavering dedication and daily sacrifices made by first responders.

Lafayette Parish Communication District’s Implementation of Smart 911
Lafayette Parish Communication District is proud to announce the implementation of the Smart 911 feature for call takers, dispatchers, and responding units out in the field.
Members of the public may now help protect their loved ones by creating a Smart 911 safety profile. Smart 911 provides the 911 call taker and emergency responders with life-saving information.
Lafayette Parish 911 earns CALEA Reaccreditation
Lafayette Parish 911 has been recognized as an elite organization adhering to professional excellence in all operational and administrative functional responsibilities by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) in Bellevue Washington on November 11th, 2023.
Special Achievement in GIS Award
The Lafayette Parish Communication District hasbeen awarded the ESRI Special Achievement (SAG) in GIS award.
This is an international award given for innovative GIS (Geographical Information Systems) solutions that solve real world issues. Annually, there are approximately 100,000 businesses/public safety agencies nominated for this award and only 200 agencies receive the award.
