CALEA
The Lafayette Parish Communication District is accredited through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). The District received its initial accreditation in 2009 and was re-accredited in 2012, 2015, 2019 and 2023. Currently the District is one of only three 911 centers accredited by CALEA in the State of Louisiana.
CALEA has developed a set of internationally recognized standards for public safety agencies. The accreditation process confirms that an agency has a commitment to professional excellence and high-quality service delivery to the community through comprehensive policies, procedures, and training that are regularly reviewed and assessed by CALEA’s independent experts; essentially signifying that the agency operates at a high level of accountability and best practices within the public safety field.
